It''s been a hectic month!! I''ve been back to work now for 1 week. We were on strike for 14 days. It was a very interesting experience for me - I got to meet a lot of people I work with but never had a face for them. I also got a great tan and walked a lot :) I am very glad to be back at work however! :)
With work - I will be starting a new job within the next 2 weeks - same group - but not on the phones or Service Desk. I will be working to help install new PC''s that arrive to campus. It is a 1 year acting job so I can come back to the desk afterwards. it should be a great learning experience for me.
Meag''s work - she is loving working downtown :) It''s awesome to have her home at night by 7:20 the latest. She is starting to get steady and quickly building up a repeat clientele. She is also going to try and get a couple more off-site locations going in the next couple weeks.
The strike was hard on the family - I did the 6am-10am shift mostly. Which was great as I had my entire day ahead of me when I was done. Oh ya - except I was exhausted! I was going to bed with Tym at 8 most of the time. Everyone was exhausted, since Tym decided she had to get up with me at 5.
It''s pretty amazing to watch how small changed in schedule effect little ones - by the last week Tym was starting to have more potty accidents and acting out more... She also didn''t want to go to Natasha''s. Which was weird because she''s always loved going over.
Thankfully after a week back at work, life is getting back to normal - I am lucky if I get a hug as I leave in the morning, she knows I''m going to work and will pick her up. She is starting to sleep in more - 5:15, then nursing for awhile, so we are not getting out of bed till 6ish - which sure is nice :)
I forgot to mention a week ago - but welcome Ivy Jane! :):) matt and sarah had their girl on the 15th :) Everyone is home and happy. She is so cute!
On Friday, Tym was rather goopy-ly eating yogurt at the table while Deah winced in pain from a headache. Trying to be alittle funny, I told Tym that Mama had a headache on her nose. Tym shoved aside her yogurt, told mama to come here and planted a sloppy yogurt filled kiss on the tip of Deah''s nose.
Tym: "All better mama?"
Deah: "All better Tym, thanks".
Tym: "Good, now get down mama!"
Just a quick update... Day 6 of striking... no - one is liking it - Deah getting up at 5 to go picket, tym waking up, Meag geting up with Tym. it''s hard work, I''ve never walked so much in my life!! And it''s amazing how many people can curse at you so early in the morning!
It was a lovely weekend. A busy weekend! We both took Friday off and had a 4 day weekend. Went to the beach with Annie and Beth Friday then had friends in for supper. Saturday morning we headed to the Carp Market with matt and Sarah and then their place for lunch. Home to get Annie who we watched for the afternoon and to the park.
Sunday morning we did groceries and dropped Tym at Annie''s after nap and we headed for a hike in Gatineau and back to Annie''s for supper. Monday we packed up first thing in the morning, and headed to Parc Omega and feed the animals. Tym had a great time!
And thankfully Monday was the morning she decided to sleep in :) and we all slept in past 7! I don''t remember the last time that happened!
All in all it was a fabulous weekend - the last long one of the year :)
Tym is in the process still of getting her molars - they come on go. Lastnight looked like she ran a marathon, her cheeks are so red. Poor thing.
On news front - my work has news.... We are on srike as of today - picketing at 6am really sucked! Hopefully they settle soon.
Tym just gets more and more funny - here are some giggles to brighten y''alls day:
1) We''re teaching Tym that she has hair and animals have fur. The sun was shining just right on her legs to show the little hairs growing on them. With awe and excitment she stroks her legs, looks at me with a big smile and says "Tym has fur!"
2) Deah and I were debating over what shorts to put on Tym while she coloured away at her table. I suggested her Champion sport-style shorts and from across the room Tym pipes up with "Yeah I like those".
3) We took Tym to Omega Park yesturday (www.parc-omega.com) As a deer was coming to the car Tym wanted a picture of it. So as Deah was taking the pic, Tym says to the deer "Smile, Click, Bye-Bye" - Pics to follow
