Hi. My name is Meag and I''m an internet addict. It was a week ago that our hard drive crashed and my world went hazy. I couldn''t sleep without knowing if I had mail. I was sick with the thought of all those long hours spent downloading music that was now - sigh - gone. And the pictures, the irreplaceable digital pitures that I had so diligently organized on the hard drive, but only recently thought enough to order some of them. Oh yeah, and I lost my business files - but did I mention the music and pictures?
Talk about a hard reality for me when the computer went down. When Deah and I were just talking about kids years before, I swore to her that our kids would have no idea what a computer was let alone what www stood for. "Outdoors!" I would bellow when she would ask me what I''d plan to do with the kids for entertainment. "It was good enough for me and I didn''t even see the internet till I was 17"! Now, I''m an addict. I at least know enough that when my belly rumbles I should eat, and work does dictate that I actually BE THERE. Kids learn mostly by modelling after their parents right? Meaning if I really want my kids to know what the great outdoors feels like versus what nationalgeographic.com says it looks like, I should stop checking my email so much.
