So we''ve been having problems with this blog - and have decided that we are going to move it. Don''t worry - what we are going to do for a little while, is when we update on the other site, we will come here and say to go take a look :)
Bubble was not feeling well yesterday so Meag stayed home and snuggled her all day. We knew she was coming down with something, she didn''t eat Sunday or Monday, and slept a LOT both days. She didn''t have the fever, or belly troubles or anything that a lot of people are having - yet. This morning she was her usual cheery self - it was good to see. Everywhere I turn someone is really sick. I am the only one at work so far that hasn''t caught it. Please let it stay that way!
Meag has recovered from the bump on the head. A few massages and chiro adjustments helped it out and she''s back at work this week! :)
Tym is growing like a weed now! She grew out of her shoes, boots and all her 2T clothes within the past 3 weeks. She is now fully in 3T. She is still short and not as solid as a lot of her friends, but she''s perfect for her :)
She got into her first fight at school last week. She had a toy that Connor wanted, so he hit her. She pushed him. he pushed back. Then she pushed him on his ass! She won her first right. Meag loves telling the story. I keep telling her not to laugh, because we don''t want her to think she can do that to everyone!
We''ve been playing a lot with Annie that last week - she Jesse is in China for 2 weeks! So we''ve been trying to occupy Annie a little to give Beth ( due is 2 month ) a bit of a break.
We went swimming with them on friday. Tym was a riot!
I hadn''t been swimming with her in a long time, and it was amazing to see the difference from last time I was with her. She was running everywhere and throwing herself in the water. She played so hard for an hour that she feel asleep 40 minutes early, and slept for over 10 hours!! She never does that! Friday swimming will become a much more often event!
So I stayed home today after a long arguement with Deah about the need to take care of myself. Last week I rang my bell really well and subsequently did some pretty good damage to my neck. A week later and I am still in alot of pain. So I took today to rest. Deah and I were talking on the couch just now while Tym had some breastmilk. I mentioned how my neck was still quite sore. Tym unlatched herself, and leaned across Deah to give me a hug. She burrowed her face into my neck and gave me a big kiss telling me "You need to take care of yourself".
We are glad it is Friday. Tym has been acting not quite like her self the past few days. She''s been testing limits a lot, not listening, or using her words. She''s been pushing more at daycare as well. Could just be a milestone is coming up for her and she''s waiting to master it. We hope it will settle down soon.
We went to the mall on Friday to buy some new winter boots as hers were cracking and chaffing. We got a lovely pair of kamik''s and a pair of samba''s - just like Meag''s! For less than 50$! Yay for stores going out of business :)
yesterday after work we went to Natasha''s new place. Tym was so excited to see Mathieu that she peed herself within 5 minutes of playing! They had a blast together :)
This weekend we are going to keep it pretty low key, and give Tym lots of play time and 1 on 1 time to try and help sort her out.
I uploaded a couple pictures from new years day with Annie. When they both had on Princess dresses. Well Tym was in black camo, a pink tutu, and Dora slippers. It was a statement! they love every minute of it though :)
It was a quick week. Even quicker weekend. Didn''t get to much done - Meag worked Sat and we did groceries. Yesterday we had Annie all day while the girls went to a baby''s coming class. It was a lovely day with both of then. A trip to Cosmic first thing to wear them out as much as possible. Clearly it didn''t work since neither one of them napped! Thank Goodness Annie brought over the Piglet movie to show Tym and they were able to chill out a bit.
Had them over for a big ham dinner following by the Chocolate Fountain with fruit. Oh my! We ate! A lot! And it was lovely! In hindsight, you should probably have more then 4 and a bit people eating to run the fountain considering you need at least 2 lb''s of chocolate to make it run! Oh well! :)
Back to a regular work week. Hopefully it doesn''t feel to long!
Back to work already! It''s truly amazing how quickly the holidays go by!
We spent a lovely week at home - it was good to get some things organized in the house -decorations put away, the rest of the boxes unpacked, basement organized.
We seen Beth, Jesse and Annie yesterday - they got back from their trip with family. The girls had a great time together, showing each what they got for Christmas. it was all very cute :)
It''s quite amazing to see them play side by side with each other now.
We are in a New Year - I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and is ready for the cold to hit! Brrr it was cold today!
Wow! What a whirlwind trip to Kitchener it was. We ended up leaving a day and half early due to bad weather but the extra time with my folks and sister and her hoard was well worth it. Tym was a blast to watch playing, running, laughing, hugging and kissing Grace and Julia. You''d never know that it had been a year and half since we last saw them. One night as Tym was hugging Grace good night she pulled away, looked Grace dead in the eye and happily exclaimed "You''re my cousin!"
There was nothing like watching the 3 of them discover the tree Christmas morning. The amount of paper those 3 kids can destroy in minutes was really quite something.
And of course as the weather played a factor in leaving Ottawa, it played a factor in needing to drive back a day early also. We were planing on leaving the morning of the 27th, but snow was coming for both Kitchener and Ottawa so we headed out late afternoon on the 26th. Tym was also starting to battle a fever and a "sore head". Today though she is at day care and feeling much better. She was quite happy to be home yesturday and simply played inside with all her new stuff. By 9:30 in the morning, Deah and I had the tree and all decorations down and packed away for another year. It''s quite weird seeing the "new house" as it is without Chirstmas exploding in it. But we can finally finish unpacking and get this place organized.
I sure do wish the house would get healthy!! What a year!
I was at home sick with broncitis Tues & Wed. I probably shouldn''t be at work today, but I knew I had a lot to get done. Meag is also congested with a cold again. Oye! I sure do hope Santa brings new immune systems in our stockings!
Christa and Abby came over lastnight for a gift exchange - and Tym went crazy when she opened the gift from them. They get her an entire tool stand from Balck and Decker. It has a mini light, drill - comes with 88 peices all together! Holy Cow! it''s awesome :) Meag and Tym sure will have some fun playing that :) They gave us a date night... movies tickets, gift card for supper... and a Tym free night!!! :) Can''t wait to cash that one in!! hehe
Tomorrow we are packing up and heading out. We were going to go to TO on Sat then to Waterloo Sunday morning - but snow is on it''s way again.. and Mel has a bad cold. So that buped our plans to leave tomorrow night and go right to KW. It will be nice to relax and enjoy family over the holidays. It will be awesome to see Grace and Julia again, and watch all of them Xmas morning! 4.5 years old, 3, and 2 year old... Oh the mayhem!
Holy Crap! Sat we leave for the holidays! Spending it with Meag''s family in Waterloo - it will be nice to see Jo and Paul''s new house.
So we got so much snow yesterday!! The snow is overflowing on the deck. We went out for a quick sled ride yesterday and to slide down a snow pile, Tym thought it was fun, but cold. Thankfully we didn''t last long!! :)
Saturday we started our shopping and finished it first thing yesterday morning. While we were at the mall - there was a Princess at Santa''s shop... and Tym wanted to stop... So she got her picture taken with the Princess - she had a great time. We could have waited almost 2 hours for a time slot with Santa - but Tym probably would have been scared.. Instead she read a book, and took a great picture!:) So much better than a scary, hairy, fat old man! :)
It took us awhile to get home in the snow, and once we were in, we weren''t moving. So we did some cooking and lots of playing.
Now I have to start the wrapping!
An interesting thing has happened a few times... Tym will throw a temper tantrum - and cry like she''s dying... I''ve talked with her and told her when she''s done to letme know... Stayed close to her.. After she is done wailing she will come to me and say sorry mama.. and she''s over what the outburst was. It''s happened a couple times now - and it''s amazing to see how grown up she is in her understanding.
The cookie exchange was a fantastic success again this year. Everyone was delited with all the cookies, of course Kelly''s Crack-ups won out again.
It''s been another busy week - Mel has been in town from Toronto. She came with a friend over for supper Monday, came to visit Tuesday and we had the old Freddy Crew over for supper lastnight. So Scott, Wade, Chris, Mel, Meag, Tym and I feast on taco''s. It was awesome to have everyone together again.
Tym loved having all her favorite aunts and uncles over lastnight that she didn''t fall asleep until 9:30 - and she was up at 6. So I am hoping for an early night tonight, cuz I dunno about her, but I''m exhausted! Her going to bed at 9 has been great in the mornings since she hasn''t woken up at 5 in a couple weeks... But it means that by the time we are cleaned up from the evening, it''s 10 and we are not getting to bed as early as we were.. tonight - I''m going to bed with the baby!
It''s hard to beleive that this is the last full weekend before we travel for the holidays!! Holy cow! I''d better get shopping!
But as Meag said, we are in. Not quite settled, but unpacked at least :)
Tym informed me this morning that she loves her new school. She has transitioned fantastically, which we are not surprised on, but it’s good to know. She is eating things she would never eat for us at home. She is getting wet outside and having a blast with her new friends. She had her first ‘Show and Tell’ this week. They had to bring in a toy from home – since she loves reading so much lately, or course she picked a book. It was Harriet Hen’s Happy Birthday. We were surprised it wasn’t Bernstein Bears!
Since she is in the new Daycare – she is napping later… And going to bed later! She hasn’t gone to bed at 8 in weeks… We’ve finally stopped trying to make her go to bed at 8 and now are keeping her up later instead of fighting with her. Last night, she put herself to bed, we read a book and she wasn’t quite ready for bed so we closed her bed and told her good-night. She played for awhile, and was asleep under the covers at 9. It was weird, but we are definitely going to try to again. She puts herself to sleep at daycare with 20 other kids, hopefully she can do it at home herself to soon
On Wednesday we had an addition to the family. A 50 gallon fish tank, including fish from Christa and Abby. It’s awesome! Tym loves it, she says good morning and feeds them. Thanks girls!
I remember Beth telling us when Grace hit 3, that the 3’s or worse then the terrible 2’s… and I think we are finding it out for ourselves. Lately she has been throwing tantrum after tantrum because she wants to do this or that. Some of it could be unsettled with the move and we need to find our groove, but some of it is definitely her strong will. The next little while should be fun!
We are in the process of getting ready for the cookie exchange Sunday – and settling into the house and getting some of the little things done. Hopefully we can be productive this weekend, so we can start to get ready for the holidays! The tree is up, and there are cookies, but that’s about it!
The move is done and all our stuff made it in. What a long 2.5 days it was of lifting, loading, carrying, hauling, swearing, pleading and finally leaving behind. Tym came home Friday night after all the boxes and basics were moved. She was a little put off that there was no couch, or dishwasher or bed for her mummies. But we had her Dora christmas video and the dvd player so she chilled out. Saturday morning Tym went to play with Annie for the day while Deah and I moved the furniture. Thanks to Rocci and Abby for breaking their backs and helping us out. As I threw our box-spring down on the bed rails I looked at Deah and swore "never again"! Tym is already showing how much happier she is in the new bigger space. For the first time ever she can RUN in the family room. As she climbed the (many!) sets of stairs to her new room, she kept saying over and over again "thanks guys!" Tigger is also a much happier kitty. My boy is back to his old self and I have missed it dearly. Tym can now give him hugs and pats till she''s bored of it and he simply lays there purring up a storm.
Well worth the sore muscles!
Saturday morning Meag took Tym to Gymnastics while I went to the new house and put in new light plates and see what needed to be done. After gmnastics there was no nap to think of ( she slept in a little bit) - so lunch then packed her suitcase for her first sleep over ever!
Christa and Abby came to pick her up at 2 - until Sunday morning!! Oh my! She we packed up her suitcase... As we were getting her bundled up she looked backk and said "Mummy and mama come sleep over to!" it was so heart breaking! But she was fine when we told her we would meet her for breakfast. Off they went.
The second they headed out the door - we got our huge shopping list and hit the stores. We bought a lovely brand new stove - yay for equal payments no interest :) We then hit Canadian tire, Ikea and Home Depot. We have window coverings, lights, cleaning stuff and hopefully most everything we will need for the new house.
A quick stop at home to change and off to Laura''s birthday party. That girl knows how to throw a party!
Meag called Christa to see how things went - and they had a great time. Tym was amazed that Christa has nipples.. And thought she had breastmilk for Pancake (their cat.. HhhrrrrmMmmm no.
Home for a sleep... But wait... the house was errily empty! We almost wanted to turn the monitor on so that it was ''normal''.
Of course Tym slept like she NEVER sleeps for us! Fell asleep at 8 - and Christa called at 7:30 - she was still sleeping!!! I told her to wake her up... I was somewhat anticipating her freak out to be in the morning, waking up without us... However she just snuggled in and jumped at the chance of feeding the cats and the fish. Strolled into the diner for breakfast like there was nothing different.
Our big girl!
After breakfast we were switching the car seat over again, and Tym was giving the girls a hig and kiss bye - and she looked at Christa totally unprompted and said "Thanks for having me over guys". It was so sweet!!
Off home we went - and we tagged teamed at the new place all day cleaning. The windows were black. The bathrooms were... well - much better now!
Yesterday no nap was had again! Go figure since she got up SO late! No nap Tym = Crazy Tym. Come supper time and after she was bouncing off the walls. it was crazy. She wasn''t to tired - but she was wired for sound. We are not sure if we like NO Nap Tym... However, lastnight, she fell asleep in 3 minutes... which we haven''t had the past month or so... give and take right?
Tonight I''m going to clean the kitchen. We have decided we will never move into a place that has been smoked in again - unless they get heavy duty cleaners to come in.
Wednesday I will be over there all day waiting for the fridge and stove delivery. And I will paint Tym''s room... Of all rooms to paint before we move in, her''s is the winner!
It will be wonderful when the move in done. anyone that wants to come help thursday night, friday or sat are more then welcome!! :)
Well the house is on its way to being healthy - again! Tym''s yeast infection and conjunctivitis have both cleared up. Though I think she''s a little dissapointed in the lack of cooch cream from her morning routine! And it seems that my cold is on its way out. Geesh what a goss 10 days we''ve had. Just in time though, better to get it all done now and be health for the move next week. YIKES! Next week already. Tym is still quite excited about it and is handling the insuing current choatic state of our house very well. Deah''s getting the keys 3 days early so we can drop a couple of bleach bombs in there (it''s REALLY dirty)and get Tym''s room painted. It''ll also make moving alot easier and we can start bringing stuff over Tuesday night and just slowly plow away at it.
Tym meanwhile is doing fabulously at day care. I walk her in in the morning and she immediatly announces her arrival to everyone: "I''m here guys" and than is off like a shot with barely a "bye Mummy". And to think - I was worried.
Current morning routine:
Eye Goop put on
Nose cream put on
Lips cream put on
Cooch cream put on.
It sure will be good when the sick has left the building!
I brought Tym to the clinic again yesterday - we noticed Sunday that her bum area was red and angry looking. It''s what I suspected - Yeast Infection. Not sure if it''s the eye antibiotics, or what, but it''s angry. Canestin Cream and lots of yogurt!
Of course this morning she''s congested then before and said her throat was sore.... I should have gotten her swabbed for Strep yesterday, but she said it wasn''t sore... I hope another visit isn''t needed.
Another busy weekend on our side. Friday night we packed some more. Saturday Tym and I went to Gymnastics. She sure does love it! Then to have a latte and snack with Mummy on a break.
Saturday afternoon she napped for a long time - someone came and picked up our filing cabinet - the last of the purge before we move. And I surprised Meag with tickets to go see Bon Jovi! It took me about 3 minutes to convince her we were actually going. Meghan was nice enough to offer to babysit so I got tickets :) The concert was amazing! There is something to be said for rearview seats! :)
Sunday was a quick breakfast out - then headed to the new house to measure the windows and bring some of the backyard stuff over. It was nice to try and picture where our things are going to be. Tym has her room picked out and is ready to move :) Back home to pack a little more. A quick trip to Rainbow Foods to get some homeopathics for Tym''s now runny nose. And meag cooked us a lovely chicken dinner :)
Less then 2 weeks before we move!!! It will be nice to have it done. It''s crazy - since we have something scheduled every weekend until after xmas!
I took Tym to the clinic yesterday... Since starting Daycare last week - she has had massive dry cracked lips due to playing outside and stuff... which has lead to some acne type spots on her face from her rubbing everything... Yesterday morning when she woke up, she could hardly open her eyes due to all the goop that was there... So I brought her in the get her eyes looked at, considering the amount of sickness that was in the house this week!
She has a small eye infection, just drops for the next few days and she should be OK - the puffiness and the goop has already gone down with only 1 application last night...
So we are all on the mend!! We are running against a huge timeline with getting things done for the move... But it will all work out :)
The house is full of sickness and unwell. Deah and I both have strep throat and it looks like Tym may be getting chicken pox. Deah''s taking her to the clinic tonight. I think I''ll just naplam the house on Sunday and we can start all over again!
Tym is now doing full days at Preschool. I picked her up on Wednesday at 3:30 - she had a fun morning - but didn''t enjoy the afternoo as much - had a hard time sleeping and such. SHe started crying when she seen me - probably a little worried that she was going to Tasha and I was leaving again.. But we went and got the bus and she was ok once we were home and settled in.
Yesterday was considerably better when picking her up at 4 - she started to cry just a little bit - but stopped by the time we got her stuff to go home... Much better.
And I am sure today she will have a good time and won''t have a hard time this afternoon.
She was totally fine yesterday. She had a great time. When I went into the room she was playing and had to be called to see that I was there... Then ran to me with arms outstretched. It was awesome :) They said she had a great time. Enjoyed circle time and playing outside.
The rough part was then taking her to Natasha''s.. Since I was picking her up, she wanted to go home with me.. But once she was there, again no problem.
this morning when Meag dropped her off - she didn''t even get a kiss - Tym rushed right off to play with toys and just said bye.
So I''m sitting at work.
I just dropped Tym off at DayCare. In a big room, with people I don''t know and other kids I''ve never met.
But there was fish - and I hardly got a kiss and hug.
11:30 won''t come soon enough for me to go get her and see how her morning was!
Halloween was a hit yesterday. It was slow going.. We picked her up a little early and headed right to venus envy - Christa wanted to see her and got her presents... so we went - and Tym wasn''t so sure what was suppose to happen - until she ended up with 14 full sheets of stickers in her bag!!!
Then we came home for supper - it was a fight to get her back into the costume - but to go outside with Oscar, she did it. After watching Oscar with house number 1- she was a pro and beat him to a few hours. After 30 minutes she started to get a little tired, so Meag carried her and we started heading home. Once home - she didn''t want to go in. More houses mummy, more houses! So out they went for another 20 minutes while I dooled out candy.
Once home Tym officially had her first peice of Halloween candy = and box of smarties she picked. 3rd time tricking, first treat :)
On other news we had orientation at daycare yesterday - everything is a go for Monday morning.
So back to the Dirty Old Man name... The past few months Tigger has gotten very cranky. Ever since his tooth surgery he''s been very mean towards everyone. He hates being inside during the day - and growls if any cat comes near him, or you try to move him and he doesn''t want you to - like at night in bed! So Meag brought him to the vet lastnight.
We told Tym that Tigger had to go see the vey because he''s not feeling well - so when she got in the car, she insisted that Tigger get Car baby - she wanted to put baby inside the carrier - we managed to not have to do that. But when we dropped Meag off and she took Tigger from the back seat - Tym insisted Tigger take Car Baby inside to make him feel better and safe! So off Meag walks with a car carrier in one hand and car baby in the other!! it was cute!
So back to Tigger... He has severe anxiety. And is on kitty prozac :( Poor thing. We are hoping that a few months after the move he will settle into the new place and feel better... it has been a rough year for him after all - we moved, winnie was sick, then died, we got belle, then came fynnagan, then surgery. Of course he''s cranky! So we are going to do the prozac for now since we do have a toddler in the house, and we need to make sure she''s safe. Then in a few months, we will try moving to the homeopathic version.
On another note.
We found a daycare for Tym!! She starts on the 5th. Natasha told us over a week ago she was looking for jobs outside of childcare, but would wait until we were able to find a subsidized spot somewhere else.. We got lucky and found one :) and it''s right down the street. We went yesterday to take a look. And Tym loved it, and is excited about her own cubby! It was cute.
So it will be an intersting few months.. With new childcare, then a new house... She''s excited about the move, so hopefully it will be a seamless transition.
Deah, Tym and I were in the car tonight when a pick up truck almost cut us off. Being me of course I blurt out "jackass". Well, you know who pipes up from the back seat and repeats it 3 or 4 times. Deah shakes her head and says "No Tym, he''s not safe". Tym responds with "No mama - he''s a jackass".
I''ve taught Tym that Tigger is a Dirty Old Man (long story - just go with it). A couple of days ago, Tym was standing at the back door, naked (of course) calling for Tigger, yelling "Dirty Old Man - Come here!"
